CasaSito assists over 4,000 people through all of its education programs. The majority of these people are indigenous Guatemalans from rural areas. In 2011, 127 students will be supported through CasaSito's Scholarship Program. Our work is mainly located in rural areas of the Department of Sacatepequez. However we also support projects around Xela, Momostenango, Alta Verapaz and Quiche.

The Mission of CasaSito is to increase educational opportunities in rural areas so that indigenous children living in poverty can attend school, receive quality instruction, and obtain the skills they need to improve their lives.

In addition to providing assistance with teacher salaries, CasaSito offers trainings to teachers in rural area schools to equip them with new teaching tools and techniques.
Our scholarship program gives educational opportunities to children at the Básico, Diversificado and University level.

They will strive to reach their potential and lift themselves and their families out of poverty. They will also value service and continue helping others throughout their lives.

How would your donation help?

$1,500 - would provide scholarship for 8 Basico students (middle school)

$2,500 - would provide scholarship for 4 Diversificado students (high school)
$3,000 - would provide scholarship for 4 University students
$3,500 - would pay a teacher salary for one year
$5,000 - would support a nutrition program for 80 children

CasaSito offers scholarships and partners with local learning centers to provide in-depth and extensive support for students and families. They provide a variety of services including:

Scholarships for Middle School and High School
Workshops and Psychological Support for Students and Families
Teacher Training
Administration Training
Extracurricular Activities and Festivals
Donations of School Materials, Food Programs, Teacher Salaries and Administration Costs
Evaluations of our Partner Projects and Scholarship Students

They have 6 full time and 2 part time staff and utilize between 5-30 volunteers depending on the project work.

They are registered in the US and Guatemala and have no religious affiliation.
